Get to know the old steering

***Disclaimer: Do not try any of the modifications you see in this post. This is about modifying the steering in my car. If the steering fails because of this, that would be bad. If you decide to modify your steering in similar fashion, you do so at your own risk***

I really wish I’d taken more pics of my work. It wasn’t till recently that I considered creating a blog so please bear with me and we’ll get through these builds and hopefully you’ll be entertained.

The last post talked about the rough breakdown of the usable parts of a Nissan Rogue’s EPAS system. I’ll try to lay out the stock steering column parts and how I managed to integrate the two systems.

So, these are the chunks of the steering column I’ll be using from the car. The top picture is, of course, the actual steering column but lets call it the outer column tube. The next picture is the inner column tube and then the steering shaft. Below that are the upper and lower column collars.

I have the parts, I wish I had a plan. I’m sure if I stare at the parts long enough, they’ll tell me what to do…or not.
