Floor Support and Frame

Placed an order for a new right side floor support and went about drilling out the spot welds and removing the old, rusted support.

With the support removed, I could see just how eroded the frame rail section was. Luckily the damage was just on two of the three sides and only about 8 inches long. I had a piece of 2-inch square tubing that I was able to relieve of two sides and then trimmed to length, the patch fit the opening where the rusted section was removed.

Some welding and grinding and welding and grinding and welding and grinding and the frame looked whole again. The fresh metal was painted with the Eastwood Rust Encapsulater and the new floor support slid right over the end of the frame rail. Welding straight upwards really, really sucks.

I wish I had more pictures but once I get it in my head to get to work, I forget all about documenting.
